Go the Holiday Blog for the full Programme and to The Art Walk to see the artists that we have had ..... we now have many new artists and it is time to hold another Art Walk!
RERA hosts social events and interesting talks on occasions. The most important social events are normally held over the Christmas and the Programme differs but includes walks with resident experts - Helen Jones for birding, Ernst Thompson Jnr, marine biologist, has taken over from sculptor Evette Weyers who led many past walks exploring the tidal pools, Wolfgang Steinbach to the seals, Dapat se Gat and other walks; Duncan Hiles used to educate us on the Night Sky -- is there anyone else out there who would like to volunteer - share your knowledge on any of our nature. There is also a very popular sandcastle competition and a Crayfish Competition hosted by the Boat Club. In the past we had social (or sometimes fiercely competitive!) Boules competitions. For the energetic, early on New Year's day, Jill Lockley will lead the a walk up Klein Hangklip - in the past it was led for many years by Geoff Harris. This year the Christmas Programme starts and ends with a community beach clean up.
There is a blog for photos sent in from Rooielsers of family, friends and fun gatherings - click here to see those. And please send us some more! They are badly out of date.

Notes from social gathering in September 2016:
Rooielsers gathered at Wonderlings to celebrate Spring 2016, raise the new Baboon flag and enjoy an interesting slide evening. Go to the link on the Baboon page and link to Joselyn's presentation on the baboons. Below are a few of the photos from that evening. If you would like to see more photos from the evening (thanks to John and to Estelle) click for the slide show of the evening.

In July 2016, Rooielsers met in the home of Lee-Ann and Ivan Becker for delicious soup. It was a fun informal, winter gathering with a chance to meet up with both the "seldom seen" (including owners since the 1980s and earlier) and some of our newest permanent residents and holiday-makers along with RERA and REC committee members and quite a few other village stalwarts.
Below are some photos of the creative sand sculptures and the Boules from Christmas programme competitions and then below that are some photos of people at earlier social events.
