The Rooiels Security Association was formed in 2014 as a community-driven, participative initiative to provide a 7 days a week response presence, based in Rooiels. The Association has an office at the entrance to Rooiels.
In addition to contracting a security service provider (ASK Security) which has a car and security guard in the village 12/7, RESA maintains a CCTV network which includes a licence plate recognition camera at the main entrance to the village as well as a number of cameras with night vision capabilities around the village. RESA also manages an active group of local resident volunteers who conduct regular neighbourhood watch patrols. To find out more about RESA, please read the constitution. |
RESA Fees 2023
RESA’s annual fees for the 2023 financial year, as approved at the 2022 AGM, are R2 000. The majority of the households in the village subscribe to RESA and their fees support the provision of the 12/7 response vehicle, expenses associated with the office and the maintenance of the CCTV network. Additional voluntary contributions enable the extension of the CCTV network and to have key CCTV cameras monitored offsite.
We appeal to all homeowners to continue supporting RESA so that security in the village can be maintained and enhanced.
In the event that you are a victim of crime, witness an incident or would like to draw RESA’s attention to a possible incident, please complete this Google form. It will enable RESA to centralise information relating to the security of the village helping us to prepare for and potentially prevent future incidents.
