It seems to have broken up and is not in Rooiels. Only very few red tides are toxic, but it is better to be safe and avoid mussels if the red tide reaches our shores. You will see the luminescence in the breaking waves at night - and the kids love to stomp their feed in the sand to make it glow!

They are not supposed to be taking crayfish close to the shoreline and it is highly illegal after dark. There was another vessel seen at around 0200 on 19th December fishing close to shore. You can also report them to the Hermanus 24 hour: 028 313 2703. Shore-based poachers reports should be to the Kleinmond officers indicated on our website under Key Information. The holiday season is upon us - and we welcome many Rooielsers back into heaven (if a little windy at the moment).
